Welcome! My name is Lauren Heckmann and this is my 13th year teaching in EBISD. I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in EC-6 Education and later pursued my Master's Degree in Administration from Lamar University. After a few years teaching in the junior high, the journalism position became available and I was blessed to be able to accept the job. I have always had a love for journalism and creativity, and being a former EBHS yearbooker, this was the perfect spot for me. We have very strong and successful staffs that work hard for the many awards we have won. I am looking forward to a great year!
Tutorials:
My scheduled tutorial times are Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30-4:00, however, if a student needs assistance or tutoring at another time, they need to talk to me so we can make other arrangements.
Supplies:
Yearbook/Newspaper: 1/2" binder, composition book or spiral, dividers, colored pens (there will be a place for you to keep your binder/comp book in my room), Clorox Disinfecting Wipes
Photography: 2- 16 GB (or larger) Camera Cards, Clorox Disinfecting Wipes
Principles of Journalism (J1): 1/2" binder, 100 page composition book, dividers, colored pens, scissors, glue sticks, markers (there will be a place for you to keep your binder/comp book in my room), Clorox Disinfecting Wipes
ALL SUPPLIES WILL BE NEEDED BY Monday, August 19th.
